What I Learned From the Super Bowl

I am married to Scotty Sanders and he has been a New Orleans Saints fan for most of his life. He never gave up on his team, even when they were called the “ain’ts” and even when the fans wore bags over their heads.

Now if you have read any of my husband’s blogs, you know that he is a man with a very positive attitude. He is an encourager and has a gift of making others strive for excellence. Each year, he would say, “one day we will see the Saints in the Super Bowl.” He even told my son that he would take him to the game when it happened.

Needless to say this has been an exciting year around our house. We have gotten calls, texts, and emails from friends we haven’t heard from in years, just to say, “What about those Saints?” People remembered that Scotty always had faith in the team and never gave up on them.

This made me start thinking about being faithful with the things God has given to me. Do I have faith in others and show the love of Jesus without fail? Will people remember that I stood boldly for Jesus Christ in my everyday life?

By the way, my son was expecting a new baby any day so they didn’t make it to the Super Bowl.  Priorities do change with time don’t they?
