It is hard to lead people you do not really care about. How do you show love to the ones you lead?
Here are a few characteristics of a loving leader:

1.Value trust over power.
Yes, I have been bitten by this in the past. However, when you have to lead with power and control you make your team members feel that you do not trust them. Without trust it is hard to love.

2.Emphasize grace over law.
Do not judge but believe the best. Look for the good in people not the negative. Forgive quickly and move on.

I have said for years there is nothing to do but bury a person when he or she has no passion.

Three Ways to Stir the Passion:

1.Remember the defining points of passion in your life.
•What was something you experienced that moved you?
•What makes you angry?
•What makes you cry?

2.Develop relationships with passionate people. Passion is contagious.
•Identify at least two people who are very passionate, then schedule some time with them.
•You may be hanging around people that zap the passion from you. What can you do to change that relationship?

It is no secret most prayer meetings are attended by few, and the majority of the few are women. Why don’t men pray together? 

We are experts at opening and closing prayers.  We open and close each worship service in prayer. When we gather for a Men’s Prayer Breakfast, we do the same.  We pray, eat, share a few words, and then close in prayer.  Most Pastors’ Prayer Breakfasts are the same. Whether pastor or not, we are good at lifting coffee cups, biscuits and gravy to our lips together.
