The Connect Factor - Seven Pre-Service Disconnects

While many people without church homes visit a church on Easter and Christmas, church leaders often struggle getting these guests to return for a second Sunday. Research studies reveal that people decide whether they will return to a church within the first four to eight minutes of arriving to the church. This is before they hear the first song or any of the sermon. People want to connect right away. Unfortunately, too many disconnects early in their visit can mean they leave and never return.

Get connected. Get plugged in. Get in touch. Establish relationships. Become joined, united or linked. These are all reasons people join a church or any organization. People want to connect – to God, to believers, and to the world. People are seeking to be united with other believers and with God.
Empowerment, Not Excuses

We pulled up to the unimpressive high school building and saw a parking lot full of cars. The signage was clear and colorful, but not overwhelming. The entrance area of the travelling church was covered with people in bright red shirts.
Do You REALLY Know Me?

Relationships are so important! How many times have you seen a child attend your church who did not want to stay because he did not know any other children in the room? Boys and girls want to have a sense of belonging and to feel like they are a part of the group. Your leadership team must work hard to build relationships with the kids.
Here is a fun exercise you can teach the kids so they can learn to be “guest-friendly” and build relationships too!
