Orange You Glad You Love Jesus?

Fall is such an exciting time of year. It makes me think of football, pumpkins, leaves, and the smell of cinnamon. What a great time to remind the kids of our many blessings—especially Jesus!

What Do Parents Want Their Child’s Teacher to be Like?

Parents want the best for their children, especially from the teachers at church. They want godly men and women who can set a good example for their child. It is also important for the teacher to love in all situations. To be patient, but firm; kind, encouraging and friendly to their child and the family in and out of the classroom.

Small Groups for Children

Tips that help us think:

Quality vs. Quantity Time

I was listening to Dr. Dobson the other day and he was talking about parents spending time with their children. We’ve all heard that we should spend quality time with our kids. He asked this question. If you go to a restaurant and they give you a small, quality piece of steak, you eat it and it may be really good, but you are still hungry! That is the same with the children. Spending quality time with your children is good and they enjoy it, but they are still hungry. They need the quantity of time too.

Defining Reality in Children’s Ministry

Max Dupree says, “Leadership is defining reality.” How do you define reality in your ministry? One suggestion is to ask your guests to fill out a short survey. This can be done online, by phone or mail.

VBS Fever

The months of June and July seem to be filled with churches having VBS. (I’ve always wondered why we all seem to have them at the same time!) Everyone loves Vacation Bible School and it has proven to be the single largest outreach event for churches.
