Relationships are so important! How many times have you seen a child attend your church who did not want to stay because he did not know any other children in the room? Boys and girls want to have a sense of belonging and to feel like they are a part of the group. Your leadership team must work hard to build relationships with the kids.

In talking to children’s ministers, many express the feeling of being seen but not heard. The importance of our ministry is overlooked. Even the other ministries in the church can sometimes forget and ask for “childcare.” (By the way, in children’s ministry there is no childcare—we are leading and guiding children to Christ!)
Celebrating the “Love” Month

In Children’s Ministry, we should always be looking for those natural emphasis times and take advantage of them! February is a good time to talk about love. The kids see red hearts everywhere. They have Valentine parties, receive cards, and gifts. There are even t-shirts, pajamas, tattoos, and stickers to wear on Valentine’s Day. What a perfect time to talk about “real love.”
