Declaration of Personal Responsibility
Published by on May 11th 2012
When will it end? How much longer can our country remain great if we do not stop the craziness? What I am referring to is the thought “government owes me success.” Our country is on the verge of bankruptcy because of this ideology.
What can you and I do about this dilemma? Let’s begin with taking personal responsibility for our own lives.
Process these statements:
•I currently possess everything I have truly wanted and deserve.
•My possessions, my savings and my lifestyle are an exact mirror of me, my efforts and my contributions to society.
•What I sow is what I reap.
•If I am unhappy with what I have received, it is because as of yet, I have…
The Seven Nails in the Church Coffin

The Seven Nails in the Church Coffin
Statistics show that churches are dying at an alarming rate in the United States. The most disconcerting thought is that the church is nailing their coffin shut.
Nail #1 – Tradition: Let us keep doing things the way we have always done it.
Nail #2 – Bureaucracy: Churches maintain the present system.
Nail #3 – Inertia: Churches maintaining the present direction. Members are focused on the insiders rather than the outsiders.
Nail #4 – Caution: Fear of change. Most churches struggle with making decisions.
Nail #5 – Busyness: I do not know a pastor who would say they are not extremely busy. Unfortunately, they are busy doing less mission critical activities. Churches use sideways energy.

Do You Want to Improve Your Delegation Skills?
Delegation is accomplishing results through others.
A few benefits of delegation are expanding your potential, and improving your work. When you delegate your potential becomes unlimited. Delegation is an excellent way to develop people.
So why don’t leaders delegate? When a leader is not willing to delegate it is usually because:
1.They are insecure.
2.They cannot let go of control.
3.There is a lack of ability to train others.
4.There is a lack of confidence and belief in others.
5.They have a low self-image and do not want to inspire others.
6.They have a fear of mistakes or failures.
7.They think they are too busy…

Avoid Death Magnets
Part 3
Here are more common death magnets in the church today:
4.The Kiss of Yes
Most churches operate with a “the more activities we have the more successful we are” mind-set. This is the “Kiss of Yes” death magnet. Church busyness is no doubt one of the greatest hindrances to healthy church growth. Unfortunately I have had pastors tell me we are too busy to do evangelism.
5.Gravitating Toward the Insiders
Every organization gravitates toward the insiders, especially the church. It is definitely a death magnet. The leadership of the church must resist the gravitation pull from the death magnet and turn toward the outsider. They must ask the hard questions such as, “How is this activity helping…

Avoid Death Magnets
Part 2
Some of the most common death magnets in churches today:
1.Lack of Relevance
Is your church out of touch with the culture in its community? Ask yourself, “If our church were to disappear tomorrow, would it really matter as far as a kingdom impact?” Leading your church by looking through the rear view mirror becomes a death magnet.
2.Our Church is Not Any Worse than the others in Our City.
When the standard is not excellence and effectiveness, but rather mediocrity, you are headed down a dangerous path. Have a God-sized vision for your church.
3.The Budget is King
Is this the scenario in your church? An opportunity presents itself and there is cost involved that is not in the…

Avoid Death Magnets
Part 1
“Death Magnet” is a term coined by Jim Jones, a former M60 tank company commander. Jones noticed in training of other tank commanders that many would take their tanks through the easier terrain although it led to many tanks being “killed.” He called these areas “death magnets.”
Tanks have great difficulty moving quickly through mountainous or wooded terrain and they can be stopped by ravines, canyons, and canals. Thus, tank commanders are inclined to travel through plains and valleys. Knowing this the enemy can use the terrain to funnel the opposing force into kill zones or “death magnets.” The take away is the easy way is usually mined. The easy way is a death magnet too.

Starting a Revolutionary Team
In order to create a revolutionary team, you must look for people who want to change the world.
Here are qualities I am looking for and some I am not:
YES They are already making a difference where they are.
NO People who are under-employed/unemployed (easier is usually not better)
YES Special Abilities
NO Educational Level
YES Incredible Passion
NO Work Experience
YES Risk – takers
NO Fear of Failure
If you want to start a revolution you must have the right kind of team!
