You cannot be an authentic leader unless you are your own person. I have known other leaders who were too responsive to the wishes of others. They had a hard time making difficult decisions for fear of offending. The advice I have given to thousands of leaders is to be you.

Children begin noticing the differences that set them apart from others at a very early age. While this can be a great time of self-discovery, it can also be intimidating as children notice they may be the only one with freckles or the only one wearing glasses. How can we make them realize God created them just as He wanted them to be?

Several weeks ago I asked my step-mom, Sara, what it was about my dad that made her want to marry him over 20 years ago. Sara is about 12 years younger, was a successful professor in college, was and still is very beautiful. Her answer was, “your dad is the best conversationalist I have ever met. He can talk with anyone.”
